AOTW Tom Richmond

Artist Of The Week: Tom Richmond. If you are a MAD magazine fan I am sure you have seen his work. I love caricature drawings, I have an incredible respect for the craft. I have a hard time trying to create them myself. Tom is a master and I am envious of his talent! His ability to really capture people and pop culture is amazing! AOTW Todd Hamilton

Artist Of The Week: Todd Hamilton. Traditionally I tend to post more traditional artist or illustrators, well I being a graphic artist realized that this is not a fare representation of art. So after seeing this Graphic Artists icon set for some projects he is involved in I could not resist making him my next Artist Of The Week. Todd Hamilton is new to me and I recently signed onto the dribbble.com website where you can see some amazing graphic artists works in progress. So please go check out Todds work and see what fun projects he is involved in. His dribbble profile and his project site is here.

AOTW Josh Howard

Artist Of The Week: Josh Howard. Here is one of my favorite artist and writers. Being a huge fan of the Dead@17 series and The Lost Books of Eve, I knew Josh Howard would be added to this list soon enough. I am always checking out his website and though it has been some time, he has recently done some updates, much of which are works he did for commissions. I love his style, again very pinup esq., but he also writes and illustrates some amazing Comic books/Graphic Novels. So please check out his work both the art and his books. You will not be disappointed.

AOTW Emilie Decrock

Artist Of The Week – Emilie Decrock. This artist I found a few years back and fell in love with her style. Most of the illustrations almost seam they were created to convey fashion. The site is in French and I have never really read her blog sadly, but I know it’s said that math is the universal language, but I’d like to think art is just as universal if not more. It is my pleasure to share this talented artist in my growing section of Artist Of The Week. So here is a link to the Original Version of the site: Emilie Decrock and for us English speaking people here is a link with Google translate: Translated Emilie Decrock.

Side Note: I will be going back and reading the site translated, so I might update this post soon.

AOTW Dominic Marco

Artist Of The Week – Dominic Marco. I have to admit I did not know or had heard of this artist, until last week, but now I have been on a mission to see everything he has created. I am huge fan of Sexy Comic Book Style Pinups, so when I came across these amazing illustrations, it struck a cord. The sensuality, color, and execution are top notch and inspiring. I am going to give two different links for this artist one to the official web site: Official Website. As great as the official website is, there seams to be more illustrations on the deviantart site: Dominic Marco on Deviantart.com.

AOTW Martin Abel

Artist of the week-Martin Abel. Martin is an Australian artist who’s work I have seen and watched grow for years now. His pin-up artwork is absolutely amazing, beautiful and sexy. I am always intrigued with the material, the ideas he comes up with and his hints of an old burlesque style are just creative and unique. Go check out his website here.

AOTW Mike Maihack

Artist Of The Week – Mike Maihack. I found this artist online a few years back and I find his work so much fun. He brings a real kid like flare to every piece, while still maintaining adult overtones. He has some really cool comics, my personal favorite is called “Cleo Patra In Space”. His use of color and technique just bring that kid at heart feel. Anyway got check out one of his website and you will instantly see what I mean. Here is his blog cowshell.com its my favorite place to start and read up what he is doing.

AOTW Joe Ledbetter

Artist of the Week- Joe Ledbetter. I found this artist when I was looking into and doing some toy sculpting, although I think Joe is not a sculptor himself some really cool toys have been fashioned after his artwork. What really impressed me was how they make the toys look just like his two dimensional paintings. His artwork is vibrant, colorful and fun. He has designed some really cool characters and they are portrayed in a very playful way. Absolutely amazing, so please go check his website www.joeledbetter.com

1st Artist Of The Week

As an artist I tend to check out other artists websites and see what people are creating. I am always finding art from a multitude of talented people and as such I figured I’d update my own site more frequently by sharing my findings. So for my first Artist Of The Week, I would like to present Otis Frampton. I recently came across Otis’s website after purchasing my Prismacolor Artist Markers and wanting to see what could be accomplished with this new medium. During my endeavor I came across some of his brilliant marker imagery; his style intrigued me and the playfulness of his character designs really captured my inner child. His art and fan interaction is inspiring. Otis has an event he calls 7-7 Sundays where he does a live web auction every Sunday where he works on the auction winners masterpieces streamed live. So go check out his website you will not be disappointed. OtisFrampont.com.
